Some sessions just feel different—in the best way. Alyssa and Alec’s engagement session was one of those experiences. It didn’t feel like a photoshoot at all. It felt like stepping into a real, intimate moment and simply documenting it as it unfolded.
They chose Fika Coffee House for their session, which made it instantly meaningful—it’s where they had their very first date. Starting a session in a place that already holds memories always brings a deeper layer of authenticity, and that was so evident from the very beginning.
We began inside the coffee shop, where everything felt slow, warm, and natural. Alyssa and Alec cozied up together, laughing, snuggling, and just being present with each other. I hardly had to direct anything. It truly felt like I was a fly on the wall, quietly capturing a real date as it happened. Those are always the moments I chase as a photographer—the in-between, unscripted ones that tell the most honest story.
After we left the coffee shop, we wandered through downtown Parker with no strict plan—just following whatever caught our eye. That freedom made the session feel even more like them. We found a brick building with a simple bench that perfectly matched their vibe—laid-back, warm, and a little nostalgic. It became one of those unexpectedly perfect spots.
Not long after, we came across a small chapel, where we captured some sweet, candid moments. Nothing forced—just the two of them, being themselves, which made every frame feel genuine and full of life.
Then came my favorite part of the entire session—the frozen yogurt stop.
This wasn’t just a “photo op.” They were genuinely on a date—laughing, being playful, sharing bites, and enjoying the moment together. I simply documented it as it unfolded. Those images are some of my favorites because they hold so much real emotion. You can feel their connection in every frame.
We ended the evening the best way possible—with them dancing in the street under the glow of the lights. It was one of those moments that felt almost cinematic, but still completely real. Joyful, carefree, and full of love.
Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do. It’s not about perfectly posed images—it’s about capturing connection, energy, and the story that makes each couple unique. Alyssa and Alec made that effortless.
